KC APP PRIVACY POLICY 

At Kids Corner, we understand the importance of keeping families safe online. Our app is designed for children, but we recognize that parents and guardians are the ones who need to feel confident about how their child’s information is handled. That’s why we keep things simple: we only collect the minimum information necessary to operate the Kids Corner app and provide features for your child, we use it only to make the app better, and we give parents full control over what is shared. This policy explains, in plain language, what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have as a parent.

YOUR PRIVACY IS IMPORTANT TO US.

You are reading this privacy policy because you want to keep your personal information safe. We want that, too! Here are some ways that we do our best to keep your information safe.

  1. Most app features can be accessed by providing only a small amount of personal information, such as your name and email.
  2. When we collect information, only staff members from Kids Corner and ReFrame Ministries can view it. We promise not to share it with anyone without your permission.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

  1. When an audio file is played through the App, we count the Play request and determine whether it was made on an Apple or Google device.
  2. The Google Play Store and Apple App Store provide installation statistics, including information on tablet versus phone use. They also provide us with usage by country, but Kids Corner does not track anything more specific than location details.
  3. We may collect personally identifiable information from parents or legal guardians only. This includes:
  • Parent's Name
     
  • Parent's Email Address
     
  • Hashed Passwords (for secure login)
     

We do not collect personal information from children directly without verifiable parental consent, as COPPA requires. This may include confirming your identity through your email address, a credit card or payment method check, or another method permitted under COPPA. We will not enable features that collect personal information from a child until we receive this consent.

With parental consent, we collect limited data related to the child’s use of the app, including:

  • Child profile name (non-identifiable nickname)
     
  • Avatar and customization choices
     
  • In-game progress (e.g., devotions completed, seeds harvested, prizes collected, item placements, game progress)
     
  • World information and usage activity
     

PARENT RIGHTS AND DATA DELETION

Parents and legal guardians have the right to:

  • Review the personal information we have collected from their child.
     
  • Request that we delete their child’s personal information.
     
  • Refuse to permit any further collection or use of their child’s information.
     

To exercise these rights, please contact us at [email protected]. We will verify your identity before making any changes. If you request deletion, we will remove your child’s personal information from our records within a reasonable timeframe.

HOW DO WE USE THE INFORMATION?

  1. All user information is stored solely to enable the app to function. Parent Usernames and Passwords are securely stored in our database. Child profile information, like the Child Name, Profile Avatar selected, and all of the progress states, is linked to the parent account and stored in the database. Google Play Store and the Apple Store give us basic information about devices (OS, form factor) as well as Country and Language.
  2. There is one exception. If a law enforcement agency requests and/or the law requires us to do so, we may release information reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations. to the proper authorities.
  3. We retain personal information only for as long as is reasonably necessary to fulfill the activities described in this policy, or as required by law. After this period, we securely delete or anonymize the information.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

We may use third-party service providers such as cloud hosting services and analytics tools, such as Unity Game Services (UGS), to send push notifications through Apple’s Push Notification Service (APNs) and Google Firebase.

These providers may have limited access to information solely for the purpose of operating, maintaining, and improving the app on our behalf. They are not permitted to use this information for any other purpose. A current list of third-party service providers can be requested by contacting [email protected]

INTERNATIONAL USERS

The Kids Corner app is operated from the United States. If you are accessing the app from outside the U.S., please be aware that your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the U.S. By using the app, you consent to this transfer. For users in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or other regions with data protection laws, we apply these same privacy protections, including parental consent requirements for children.
