Theme: Worshiping God/ God Calls His People (Genesis to Ruth)
1. What are some ways that you can follow God as best you can?
2. Caleb believed that God would keep his promise and be with his people. As you listen to this episode, think about how you can trust in God’s promises and be courageous about how God wants you to live your life.
A: Caleb was from Judah. A
A: Joshua was from Ephraim. D.
In Numbers 13, Caleb and Joshua return from a spy mission in Canaan. They then have to stand against 10 other spies who are afraid and do not believe that God will keep his promise to give them the land. Caleb was different because he trusted God completely.
Following God takes courage. Sometimes, we will face moments when we must do what’s right, even if others don’t. Let’s read the Bible and get ready with the words to say that will help us be strong, brave, and kind during hard times.

Just like Caleb and Joshua, it can be hard to take a stand when most of the people around you think differently. You may need to tell your friends you shouldn’t be doing something and encourage them to stop. You may have to break up a gossipy conversation. You may need to ask to turn off a movie you know isn’t God-honoring, even if your friends enjoy it. Following God fully takes courage! Will others see you as one who isn’t “like the others”? Pray this prayer after you read the story of Numbers 13 and 14:
“God, sometimes it’s hard to stand for what is right. Lord, I trust you and your promises. I pray that I may have the courage to show my different spirit, much like Caleb. Prepare my heart and give me strength and your peace. Amen.”
