1. Name some ways that people show that they believe in what Jesus taught.
2. In Luke 6:46-49, Jesus compares faithful believers to house builders who choose to build on a solid foundation. As you listen to this episode, think about how Jesus’ teachings are our strength when the storms of life try to shake us down.
“Anyone who comes and listens to me and obeys me is like someone who dug down deep and built a house on solid rock.”
A: He built it on a solid rock shelf.
A: He built on the solid rock shelf so that he would have a strong foundation.
A: Nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock.
Jesus taught in a few different ways. He told parables about the kingdom of heaven. He asked questions. He quoted the Old Testament. He challenged some with direct preaching. Have you read one of the gospels like the Book of Mark or the Book of Luke? Take a deep dive into scripture and read one or more of the gospel books and read Jesus’ words for yourself. As you are reading, think about and apply what Jesus is saying to your life. How can you obey Jesus’ teaching today?
