Do you ever wonder where everything came from? The Bible says that God created the world. Before You Listen
Theme: Exploring God’s Design - The Story Begins
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
“God commanded”, “...that’s what happened,” and “It was good!” Did you hear those words over and over in the story? God has such power that when he speaks, things happen: good things! So many imaginative and beautiful creations! Think of beautiful mountain lakes, tiny complicated insects, frogs in a rainbow of colors, undersea creatures that glow, trees whose leaves change colors, and stars that explode into beautiful nebulas. All of this was made by our creative God! Thank him and praise him for his works!
You can read the Bible story in Genesis 1-2:3. Want to dig deeper and appreciate all of God’s good creation? Check out Psalm 33:6, Psalm 104:24-33, and Colossians 1:16.
God calls us to be co-creators with him. So make something! Draw a picture! Sculpt something with clay! Write a poem or a song! Build something!
Take a walk through nature and focus on the tiny details. Look closely at a flower, or the bark on a tree, or an insect on the ground. God enjoys these things, you should too! Find examples of God’s work and tell him, “That is very good!”
