Take a few minutes to read the Bible verses listed and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you in how this verse applies to you this week.

1‌ ‌Chronicles‌ ‌29:10-20‌

Memory Verse

Revelation 4:11

‌“Our‌ ‌Lord‌ ‌and‌ ‌God,‌ ‌you‌ ‌are‌ ‌worthy‌ ‌to‌ ‌receive‌ ‌glory,‌ ‌honor,‌ ‌and‌ ‌power.‌ ‌You‌ ‌created‌ ‌all‌ ‌things,‌ ‌and‌ ‌by‌ ‌your‌ ‌decision‌ ‌they‌ ‌are‌ ‌and‌ ‌were‌ ‌created.”‌ ‌(CEV)

Amalia‌ ‌fumbled‌ ‌her‌ ‌way‌ ‌through‌ ‌this‌ ‌week’s‌ ‌memory‌ ‌verse‌ ‌in‌ ‌front‌ ‌of‌ ‌her‌ ‌Sunday‌ ‌school‌ ‌class.‌ ‌When‌ ‌she‌ ‌was‌ ‌finished‌, ‌her‌ ‌teacher‌ ‌handed‌ ‌her‌ ‌a‌ ‌sticker‌ ‌that‌ ‌said‌ ‌“You’re‌ ‌Brilliant”‌ ‌and‌ ‌told‌ ‌her‌ ‌“good‌ ‌job”‌ ‌as‌ ‌she‌ ‌sat‌ ‌down‌ ‌and‌ ‌the‌ ‌next‌ ‌kid‌ ‌stood‌ ‌up.‌

When‌ ‌all‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌kids‌ had ‌finished,‌ ‌their‌ ‌teacher‌ ‌asked‌ ‌them‌ ‌to‌ ‌read‌ ‌out‌ ‌the‌ ‌words‌ ‌on‌ ‌the‌ ‌stickers‌ ‌she‌ ‌had handed‌ ‌out.‌ ‌They‌ ‌all‌ ‌said‌ ‌things‌ ‌like‌ ‌“You’re‌ ‌Amazing.”‌ ‌Then‌ ‌she‌ ‌asked‌ ‌the‌ ‌class‌ ‌if‌ ‌those‌ ‌words‌ ‌could‌ ‌also‌ ‌apply‌ ‌to‌ ‌God.‌ ‌“Have‌ ‌you‌ ‌ever‌ ‌told‌ ‌God‌, ‌‘You’re‌ ‌amazing’?”‌

Amalia‌ ‌and‌ ‌most‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ other ‌kids‌ ‌shook‌ ‌their‌ ‌heads.‌

“Well‌, ‌that’s‌ ‌called‌ ‌adoration—or‌ ‌praising‌ ‌God‌ ‌for‌ ‌being‌ ‌who‌ ‌he‌ ‌is.‌ ‌Besides‌‌ ‌brilliant‌‌ ‌and‌‌ ‌amazing‌,‌ ‌what‌ ‌are‌ ‌some‌ ‌other‌ ‌words‌ ‌you‌ ‌can‌ ‌use‌ ‌to‌ ‌adore‌ ‌God?”‌

With‌ ‌a‌ ‌little‌ ‌bit‌ ‌of‌ ‌prompting,‌ ‌Amalia‌ ‌and‌ ‌her classmates ‌came‌ ‌up‌ ‌with‌ ‌words‌ ‌like‌ ‌‌loving,‌ ‌kind,‌ ‌and compassionate.‌

Have‌ ‌you‌ ‌ever‌ ‌taken‌ ‌time‌ ‌to‌ ‌just‌ ‌consider‌ ‌all‌ ‌of‌ ‌the‌ ‌things‌ ‌God‌ ‌is‌ ‌and‌ ‌be‌ ‌amazed‌ ‌by‌ ‌it?‌ ‌If‌ ‌not,‌ ‌why‌ ‌don’t‌ ‌you‌ ‌take‌ ‌some‌ ‌time‌ ‌now?‌ ‌What‌ ‌are‌ ‌some‌ ‌words‌ ‌that‌ ‌you‌ ‌can‌ ‌use‌ ‌to‌ ‌describe‌ ‌God?‌ ‌Adoration‌ ‌might‌ ‌be‌ ‌a‌ ‌big‌ ‌word—and‌ ‌it‌ ‌might‌ ‌feel‌ ‌funny‌ ‌to‌ ‌simply‌ ‌pray‌ ‌to‌ ‌God‌ ‌that‌ he‌ ‌is‌ ‌amazing—but ‌when‌ ‌we‌ ‌tell‌ ‌God‌ ‌how‌ ‌wonderful‌ ‌we‌ ‌think‌ ‌he‌ ‌is,‌ ‌it‌ ‌helps‌ ‌us‌ ‌remember‌ who he is and ‌everything‌ ‌he‌ ‌has‌ ‌done‌ ‌for‌ ‌us‌.‌

Prayer

Dear‌ ‌God,‌ ‌you‌ ‌are‌ ‌awesome.‌ ‌You‌ ‌are‌ ‌brilliant.‌ ‌You‌ ‌are‌ ‌creative‌ ‌and‌ ‌kind.‌ ‌I‌ ‌am‌ ‌in‌ ‌awe‌ ‌of‌ ‌how‌ ‌beautiful‌ ‌and‌ ‌loving‌ ‌you‌ ‌are.‌ ‌Thank‌ ‌you‌ ‌for‌ ‌showing‌ ‌yourself‌ ‌to‌ ‌us‌ ‌through‌ ‌Jesus.‌ ‌Amen.‌
