Kids in Action host Annissa meets four long-distance relay swimmers who decide to swim across Lake Erie, one of the Great Lakes, to raise money for the Red Roof Retreat Center (http://www.redroofretreat.com) for kids with special needs.
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
1. The swimmers talk about what they like and don’t like about swimming in the lake. What would you like about swimming in a lake? What wouldn’t you like?
2. When talking about 1 Timothy 4:12, Mallory says,“I really like that verse. It inspires young people like me to actually do things and then set an example for other people.” How can young people and others set an example by how they talk? By how they act? Through their love? In their faith? And by living with integrity? And in their purity? Choose one or more to talk about.
3. Talk about a time when someone inspired you to do something. What about their example made an impact on you?
4. Why is it important for Christians both young and old to set examples?
5. Read Matthew 5:16. What does it say about why we should set a good example?
