Before You ListenTheme: Working together.
1. 1 Corinthians 12:27 says, “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it..” What do you think it means to be a part of the body of Christ? What gifts do you have to offer the body?
2. 1 Corinthians 12:12-28 compares God’s church to a body. Each part of the body has a different purpose and job.And just as the toe and the arm don’t do the same job, neither to all the people in God’s family. Think about your part of the body of Christ as you listen to today’s program.
“Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it..”
A: He decides to form a band.
A: Lucille-keyboard, Morrie-bass guitar, Liz-guitar, Granny-drums.
In this episode, Liz and his friend learn how they should work together in music and in God’s church. You are an important part of the body of Christ. You have gifts, given by God, to use for service in his kingdom. Does that surprise you? Do you know what they are? Perhaps you are quick to remember to pray or you may be a good leader on the playground. Maybe you are good at playing music or are kind and caring to others. God give you the talents and skills. And the Holy Spirit helps you to do the jobs God’s given you to help build his kingdom. When you use the gifts God has given you to build his kingdom and help others, you are building community.

Try clapping with one hand. How did you do? How would a band sound if there were only the drums? Get a pencil and paper. Write a note to someone using only your pinkie and pointer fingers. How well did you do? God gives you gifts to use in his kingdom. They might not be the same as others in your family or your friends, but they are important to the body! Think about your gifts and how you can use them to further God’s kingdom.
