Come meet five friends who had to find a creative way to meet Jesus.
Before You ListenTheme: Serving Others- God Sends a Savior.
A: On the roof, they cut a hole and lowered their friend down in front of Jesus.
A: “I am pleased with your faith. My son, your sins are forgiven.”
One day, a group of friends in Capernaum did what real friends do. Not only did they carry their friend to where Jesus was, but they also got through a crowd, went to the roof of a building, and lowered their friend through a hole in the roof they made. Jesus saw this group’s display of faith and then surprised all of them. Jesus revealed that he was the promised one by doing two things that only God can do: he told the man that his sins were forgiven, and he told the man to stand up and walk. Those around him doubted the act of forgiveness, but they couldn’t deny seeing the man walk.
What a wonderful day for that man! He could now walk. Better still, in his heart, he knew that all his sins had been forgiven. Do your sins weigh heavy on you? Are there things that you have done that continue to make you feel bad? Pray today and ask God for forgiveness. Just like the people in the story, you too can be amazed by all the blessings God can give.

Friends show love and care for each other. You can trust a friend and you can also be a friend. Think of the last time a friend helped you. Find a way to thank that friend. Write a card, give them a treat, or just say thank you!
