Take a few minutes to read the Bible verses listed and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you in how this verse applies to you this week.
43 A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot produce good fruit. 44 You can tell what a tree is like by the fruit it produces. You cannot pick figs or grapes from thornbushes. 45 Good people do good things because of the good in their hearts, but bad people do bad things because of the evil in their hearts. Your words show what is in your heart.
Luke 6:43-45
Galatians 5:22-23
22 God's Spirit makes us loving, happy, peaceful, patient, kind, good, faithful, 23 gentle, and self-controlled. There is no law against behaving in any of these ways.

Have you ever wondered, “Am I a good person?” Maybe you’d say, “Yeah, I think so!” Hopefully, you would. But what does it really mean to be good?
Think about a fruit tree. How do you know if it’s healthy? You check if it’s growing good fruit! A tree that doesn’t produce any fruit might be missing something. It might need more sunlight, water, or good soil.
It’s the same with us! If we follow Jesus, our lives should show the fruit of the Spirit, things like love, kindness, and patience. These are signs that God is working in us. If we’re missing these things, we might need to get closer to him!
Goodness is the tool we use to fight against the bad stuff in this world. The Bible says in Romans 12:21, “Don’t let evil defeat you, but defeat evil with good.” When someone is mean to us, it’s easy to want to be mean back. But does that really help? If we choose kindness instead, we spread more good and make things better for everyone.
Jesus said, “No one is good—except God alone” (Mark 10:18). That means real goodness comes from God! The more we let God into our hearts, the more his goodness can shine through us.
We don’t wait for goodness to just happen. We choose it! Every day, we can ask God to help us be kind, loving, and brave enough to do the right thing. When we work with God, he uses us to make the world a better place!
So today, let’s choose goodness! With God in us, we can grow good fruit that helps others.
