Theme: Seeking to be Christ-like.
1. Philippians 2:2 says, “Then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and purpose.” What does this verse mean when it says to be “like-minded”? Describe a time that you and a good friend or family member were “like-minded.” Describe what happened because of it.
2. In Philippians 4, Paul was writing to Christians in the city of Philippi. When he wrote this letter, he was in prison. But even there he had heard about conflict between two leaders in Phillipian church - Euodia and Syntyche. Paul respected both of these women and he urged them to come to agreement in the Lord and reconcile. Paul encouraged them to be like-minded because he knew the importance of unity within the church Paul also encouraged other members of the Philippian church to help Euodia and Syntyche find unity. Read Philippians 4. Then, think about how you might help two friends settle a disagreement. Paul is encouraging them to be like-minded and to unite around the gospel of Christ.

Reflect
In this story, Liz and the gang talked about who their hero is. A hero is a person who is admired for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. How is Jesus a hero? Jesus had the courage to face Satan, to teach and preach God’s Word, and to sacrifice himself for our sins. We remember his power over nature, demons, disease and death. We know he is noble because “greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends” (John 15:13). What other ways was Jesus a hero?

“Each of you is now a new person. You are becoming more and more like your Creator, and you will understand him better” (Colossians 3:10).
