Before You ListenTheme: God’s fingerprints are everywhere!
1. Think about the sky at night. Where have you seen the most stars? How did it make you feel?
2. There were plenty of examples in the Bible where God worked in Jacob’s life. Sometimes Jacob didn’t even know it! At one point he exclaims, “Surely the Lord is in this place, and I was not aware of it” (Genesis 28:16). Does this describe you too? Is it hard to see God sometimes? Where are you looking?
“The heavens declare the glory of God, the skies proclaim the work of his hands”
In this episode, Julia describes how she was lost when she was a child. But Julia’s mother followed her fingerprints to find her. You can recognize God’s fingerprints in your world and in your life. Seeing God’s power over creation shows that you can trust him when things go wrong.
One person who experienced a lot of bad things was Job. He lost his family, his home, and his health. Job’s friends tried to comfort him, but they could not find a reason why all these bad things happened. Job asked God why these bad things happened. Then God showed Job his power over creation (Job 38-39). God is in control of everything and has a plan for it all.
