4 Kids' Devotions About Hope

4 Kids' Devotions About Hope

August 12, 2025

As parents, we want to show our children what true hope really is: our hope in Jesus Christ. This hope is not mere wishing, like when we say, “I hope our team wins today” or “I hope we catch a fish.” Hope in Jesus means certainty of God’s promises. Award-winning author Christina Van Starkenburg shares these four devotions for children about how God gives us hope through his peace, presence, provision, and partnership with us. Each of these aspects of God’s love for us are connected, making it easier to show our kids what God’s hope looks like. Read these devotions together as a family or listen on our website or your favorite podcast platform.

God’s Peace Gives Us Hope: When we let God's love fill us, we feel peace even when we hurt.

God’s Presence Gives Us Hope: Knowing that God is with us, that he has always been with us, and that he promises to stay with us forever gives us hope.

God’s Provision Gives Us Hope: Remembering how God promises to provide for us gives us hope that we can trust God’s promises.

God's Partnership Gives Us Hope: God’s partnership gives us hope. While he is strong enough to carry us, God wants to work with us.
