In the book of Proverbs, Solomon wrote, “Respect and obey the Lord! This is the beginning of wisdom…” (Proverbs 9:10). Later, James wrote, “If any of you need wisdom, you should ask God, and it will be given to you. God is generous and won't correct you for asking” (James 1:5). It can be hard for parents to teach their children to be wise. Wisdom is a quality that encompasses understanding, discernment, and applied knowledge, and it is often acquired through experience. However, we can teach our children to recognize wisdom. The best place to start is to help them discover God’s wisdom in the Bible.
