Take a few minutes to read the Bible verses listed and ask the Holy Spirit to lead you in how this verse applies to you this week.
13 Some people brought their children to Jesus so he could bless them by placing his hands on them. But his disciples told the people to stop bothering him. 14 When Jesus saw this, he became angry and said, “Let the children come to me! Don't try to stop them. People who are like these little children belong to the kingdom of God. 15 I promise you that you cannot get into God's kingdom, unless you accept it the way a child does.” 16 Then Jesus took the children in his arms and blessed them by placing his hands on them.
Mark 10:13-16
Ephesians 2:10
10 God planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always wanted us to live. This is why he sent Christ to make us what we are.
Have you ever thought about your favorite stories? Maybe you love tales about brave heroes or epic adventures. Well, guess what? There’s an epic adventure story that we are part of! This story is the greatest one ever told because it’s God’s story. From the beginning, God has been inviting people to join in, including you and me!
Let me tell you about a cool story I read in the Bible. People brought their little kids to Jesus because they wanted him to bless them. But then the disciples, who were some of his friends, said, “Hey! Don’t bother Jesus! He’s too busy!” But then Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me! The kingdom of God belongs to them!” How awesome is that?
So, here’s your challenge for this week: Be a God Detective! Look around you and try to spot God’s story in your world. Maybe you see a friend helping someone or someone sharing their lunch. Perhaps you notice a stranger doing something nice! Write down what you see in a notebook. It’s like being on a treasure hunt for God’s fingerprints in your life!
We’re part of God’s fantastic adventure, and we’re not just living our own story; we’re in a grand tale that God is telling every day. How cool is that?
