God Calls His People: Audio Bible Stories for Kids from Genesis to Ruth

August 2, 2023

KC Bible Stories are immersive audio dramas telling great stories from the Bible from Creation through the history of the Early Church. Arranged both chronologically and thematically, these dramatized stories introduce your children to the overarching theme of the Bible God’s plan of salvation through his Son Jesus Christ. Each story features a discussion guide with memory verses and Bible readings to take your family on a deeper dive into Scripture. Each discussion guide includes a family challenge to help your child see their part in God’s story.

Your family can start your exploration of the KC Bible Stories Podcast with The Story Begins, six stories about the Bible, creation, humankind’s first sins, and God’s earliest promises to fix what humans had broken. Then continue with God Calls His People, 11 stories about God gathering his people and shepherding them to the Promised Land. Listen right here on our website or your favorite podcast platform.

God's Promise to Abraham. God had promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations. But, at an old age, Abraham and Sarah still did not have any children. It seemed out of the question. But God made the unthinkable a reality.

Jacob and Esau. God had a plan for Jacob and Esau. Even though they fought against God and each other, God still called his people through them.

Jacob Becomes Israel. Jacob faced a lot of challenges in his life. Yet, God was always with him, even when he seemed far away from God. When he literally wrestled with God, God still blessed him and promised to always be with him.

The Story of Joseph. Life was hard on young Joseph. His jealous brothers sold him into slavery, and then his master’s wife lied about him, getting him thrown into prison. Through it all, Joseph believed God.

The Story of Moses. God always had a plan for Moses and his people. Things didn’t always go perfectly for Moses. He went through some very difficult times in order to lead God’s people, the Israelites, who weren’t always happy about being led. But Moses did what God told him to do in order to fulfill God’s purposes for him and his people.

Wilderness Journey. In this story, God’s people had to have faith that God would lead them, provide for them, and protect them. But the people didn’t always trust God and when things got tough, they complained that they were better off in Egypt.

Rahab and the Spies. Rahab was a Canaanite woman who lived in Jericho. She was afraid. She didn’t fit in with either the people of Jericho or the Israelites. But Rahab believed that God could do everything he promised. When the walls of Jericho came down, God kept Rahab and her family safe.

Joshua and the Battle of Jericho. After Moses had died, Joshua became the new leader of the Israelites. God commanded Joshua to march his army around Jericho for six days. When the walls miraculously fell, the Israelites could not take credit for how it happened.

The Story of Deborah. In the Old Testament, it was usually the strongest, smartest, or the most popular man who would be chosen to be leader. But God wanted a leader who would trust and obey him; he knew that Deborah would make a good leader for his people at this time.

The Story of Samson. God gave Samson incredible strength, but Samson relied on that strength instead of God. Only when Samson’s strength was gone was he able to repent, and then God put his plan into action.

The Story of Ruth. Ruth was an ordinary person, just like you or me. She wasn't a mighty queen or a well-spoken leader. She didn't command armies or have lots of money. But God had a plan for Ruth. God used Ruth's simple obedience.
