Memory Verse

Job 42:2

No one can oppose you [God], because you have the power to do what you want. (CEV)

Kali was singing as she played, “My God is so big, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do!”

Her grandmother smiled as she listened. When Kali finished singing, her grandmother said, “Kali, I love your song; it was simple, yet powerful. Never forget that there is nothing and no one greater than God. Satan thinks he is stronger, but he can’t win.”

Later, Kali saw all the hate and violence on the news. “Maybe Satan does have some power,” she thought. But then she remembered her grandmother’s words: “He can’t win.” Have you ever wondered about God’s power and Satan’s power? Do you have to remind yourself that the enemy can’t win?

As today’s verse says, God has no real opposition, because he has the power.

Our God is omnipotent. That means he is all-powerful. When God created the world, he spoke and everything came into existence.

Our God is omniscient. That means he knows all things. He knew us before we were born. God knows the details of everything around us.

Our God is omnipresent. That means he is everywhere. He knew us before we were born. God knows the details of everything around us.

Our enemy, Satan, works hard to convince us that God is not great. While Satan has the ability to do evil and cause harm to happen on earth (1 Peter 5:8), he is limited. He is a created being with limited power. God, however, has power over all things at all times in all ways—that’s power!

Prayer

Father God, thank you for your power that lives in me. Help me to stand strong when the enemy tries to come against me. Help me to trust in your power and might. Amen.
